The Camondo Staircase also known as the Kamondo Staircase is an architectural masterpiece of the Art Nouveau style and was built by the influential and important Sephardic banking family at the end of the 19th century. Popular belief has it that the family had the staircase built so that their grandchildren could take a shortcut to school.
