Opened in 2020 inside the international terminal transit passenger section, the Istanbul Airport Museum is also the world's largest airport museum with its 1000 m² area. The museum stands out not only for its purpose of introducing Türkiye's cultural and natural riches to travellers from around the world but also for its unique feature of housing the most special artefacts of Türkiye, setting it apart from other airport museums.

"Treasures of Türkiye: Faces of the Throne" Exhibition
The star of the museum is the "Treasures of Türkiye: Faces of the Throne" exhibition! Here, you will explore the history of Anatolia in a way you won't find anywhere else. This exhibition, filled with artefacts shedding light on different periods of history from prehistoric times to the Hittite, Urartian, Phrygian, Lydian, Roman, Eastern Roman (Byzantine), Seljuk, Ottoman, and Turkish Republic periods, carries the traces of civilisations in Anatolia with more than 300 artefacts. Witness the millennia-old history of Anatolia with 316 selected pieces from 29 different museums in Türkiye.
Journey Through History via Interactive Activities and Videos
The museum is not only filled with historical artefacts but also with fun interactive games and digital screens! It showcases the accumulation of Anatolia and Istanbul over thousands of years, displaying the personal belongings, portraits, and the ancestral throne where the world was once ruled, all with the most modern technological means. The museum aims for children to explore valuable aspects of Turkish culture through special interactive games and applications.

Türkiye Under One Roof with Istanbul Airport Museum!
More than 300 selected pieces from 29 different museums in Türkiye are gathered in one place! Among the highlighted artefacts in the museum are the figure of King Midas, the Kadesh Treaty, the known first written peace treaty between states, the Göbeklitepe Diorama, and important objects such as the Statue of the Mother Goddess, also known as Kybele.
