    Rahmi M. Koç Museum

    Planes, Ferries and Automobiles

The Rahmi M. Koç Museum is located in Sütlüce, which sits on the banks of the Golden Horn. You can reach the museum by ferry, and it’s certainly a very pleasant and scenic journey! It is the only large museum in Türkiye dedicated to the history of transport, industry and communication.

The museum houses all kinds of cars, boats, buses, planes and everything related to the industry. From time to time there are new exhibitions, but the various permanent exhibits such as the calendar steam ferry and the many different bicycles (including penny farthings and one of the first motorbikes) are among the most popular attractions.

The Rahmi M. Koç Museum’s diverse exhibits are especially popular with children, who can take a seat in a vintage car, take a ride on a 1936 steam tugboat during the summer weekends, and even board a 1944 US Navy submarine!

And at this stage, if you feel the need to refuel the museum has a tea room, shop, pub and restaurant on site.
