    The Pera Museum

    Turkish Culture at its Finest

The Pera Museum has retained its Ottoman-Roman architecture. It houses three permanent collections and a variety of temporary exhibitions and provides a platform for emerging and established artists. Donated by several industrialists, the museum is a treasure trove of culturally significant Turkish works. On display are handwritten publications from the Ottoman period, Eastern Roman works, and an impressive selection of books. With a variety of cultural events and collaborations, this is a great place to immerse yourself in the country’s culture.

The collection of Oriental paintings includes works inspired by Ottoman rule from the 17th to 19th centuries. The collection of Anatolian Weights and Measures Collection contains a variety of 10,000 prehistoric and modern artefacts. In the Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics Collection, you can admire hundreds of handicrafts from the Kütahya region of Türkiye, and in the Photography Collection, you will discover 19th and 20th-century İstanbul. The upper floors of the museum also host temporary exhibitions of modern art.

The museum is also a frequent venue for the İstanbul Biennial and the İstanbul Design Biennial.
